Restricted area security applies to any spaces or rooms within the facility where highly sensitive work occurs or information is stored. This includes secure facilities and classified workspaces.
These are often referred to as sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), which connote extensive precautions to protect both the information within the facility (or the work done within the SCIF), as well as the means of protection incorporated into the SCIF itself.
SCIFs typically have extremely high access control protections, both for their users and those who maintain the SCIFS and the systems within it.
